Alexander

DESIGNER/OWNER

Like many in the Washington, DC area my career started in politics. I served as Communications Director for two members of congress from my home state of Mississippi. After many speeches, newspaper op-eds, and press releases – I decided it was time to pursue my true passion.

I was fortunate enough to land two other jobs that allowed me to pursue my love of fashion, design and communications – Marketing Manager at The Washington Design Center and Director of Marketing and PR for Periwinkle, a women’s clothing boutique in Northern Virginia.

In April of 2013, I decided it was time to start my own marketing consulting business, and here we are! I love helping small businesses with their marketing needs. From designing marketing collateral to website management, logo & branding, social media strategy & press relations, we can develop a plan that works for you. Many small businesses do not have the time to dedicate to professional looking marketing materials nor the money to hire someone full time. Whether you are looking for help on one project or on a monthly basis - White Clover Communications can help!

My husband and I live in Alexandria, Virginia with our daughter Alexa, son Austin, and English Bulldog Cannon. I love the small town vibe and charm of Old Town and Del Ray. Our town is full of many unique local businesses - which makes my job a whole lot of fun.

The Name

Once I decided to start my own business, the next thing was “What do I call it?” I wanted to be inspired by the name; I wanted it to mean something. After much deliberation, and frustration…I decided to seek inspiration from one of the most precious things given to me – my grandmother’s Bible.

I opened it up and pressed in the first page I turned to was a crisp four leaf clover. Weird. I turned to another page, same thing, another one. Page after page, this Bible was filled with four leaf clovers. Interesting I thought, she had collected these like little hidden treasures. Not knowing much about the four leaf clover, I did some research. My findings showed that the white clover is the only species of clover to produce the lucky four leaf clover. Tradition says each leaf is believed to represent something – the first for faith, the second for hope, the third for love & the fourth for luck. Well, my grandmother had all of those – especially the first.

She was a strong Christian woman who taught me that a foundation of faith comes first, and showed me what it looks like to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. The name was perfect.

Every business needs some...

faith, hope, love and luck!

Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."
